Create SMS Templates for Your Patients

Now that the setup is complete, the next step is to create SMS templates for the messages you want to send to your patients. To do this, go to Settings > SMS Automation. In this section, click the "Edit Templates" button to create your SMS content. These templates can include appointment reminders, welcome messages for new patients, online appointment notifications, and more.

Example: Creating an Appointment Reminder SMS Template

As an example, let's create an appointment reminder SMS template. Click the Edit Templates button, and a new window will open. In this window, you will see a Select SMS Template field. If no templates exist, this field will be empty.

Below this, in the Template Name section, enter a name for your template. The next section is SMS Title, where you will select a title from those defined during your NetGSM registration. You can find more details about this in our "Creating an SMS Membership and System Integration" article.

Parameters Available for SMS Content

After selecting the title, you can compose the SMS content. You can also use dynamic parameters to personalize messages for each patient. Click on a parameter to insert it into the SMS. Once you have created the template, click Add New to save it.

Available parameters:

  • Date: The appointment date and time assigned to the patient.

  • Name & Surname: The full name of the patient receiving the SMS.

  • Last Appointment Date: The latest appointment recorded in the system.

  • Code: A 6-digit verification code (used for KVKK, consent form approvals, etc.).

  • Consent Link: A clickable link for the patient to view their consent form.

  • KVKK Link: A clickable link for the patient to view the KVKK form.

  • Online Appointment Link: A link for patients to request an online appointment.

Activating SMS Automation

In the final step, you need to add your SMS template to the system’s SMS automation to enable automatic SMS notifications.

Go to Settings > SMS Automation, where you will see six predefined SMS types that can be activated. Match your template to the corresponding SMS type, switch the Status to active, and click Save. Your SMS automation is now complete!

Note:

The first SMS type in the list is appointment reminders, which includes an additional parameter: (x hours before...). This allows you to set a predefined time before the appointment for the reminder SMS to be sent automatically.

Example: If you scheduled an appointment for March 18 at 12:30, and set the parameter to 24 hours, the reminder SMS will be automatically sent on March 17 at 12:30.
